The full 10 minute version of my remake of an old song from 1990.
While waiting for inspiration to strike for a new song, I decided to remake one of my favorite old torch songs that was recorded back in 1990.
This much improved version has better recording equipment, along with some updated lyrics from the point of view of almost 30 years later.
This is the full 10 minute version of the song.
Possibility of Love (Sad Song) by Lee Shapiro 1990
New Lyrics by Lee Shapiro - 2017
Oh, Where have you been?
It’s been more than a lifetime.
Did you finally win
The heart of a lover you could never find?
The changes have come,
I was a different man for a while.
The course had been run,
I never did go that extra mile.
CHORUS:
But it’s out there, for me to see
And it’s in you, for you to believe
And the only thing that changes is your mind.
Well we danced for a while
And told ourselves it’s a sin
I saw your fading smile
And heard your father call you in
Did you pull back the reins
On the possibility of love?
And you played those games
That I always thought you were above
CHORUS:
But it’s out there, for me to see
And it’s in you, for you to believe
And the only thing that changes is your mind.
And it’s out there, for me to see
And it’s in you, for you to believe
And the only thing that changes is your mind.
Sad song.
Sad song for me
Sad song
Sad song for me.
[New Lyrics]
Oh now we look on back
More than 20 years gone by
Our baggage unpacked
Now we each have our own separate lives
And yet from time to time
I still think of what could have been
And I have to smile
That you found someone to believe in
CHORUS:
But it’s out there, for me to see
And it’s in you, for you to believe
There's so many things that change over time
But it’s out there, for me to see
And it’s in you, for you to believe
And everything changes over time.
Every thing changes over time.
Every thing changes over time.
CHORUS:
But it’s out there, for me to see
And it’s in you, for you to believe
There's so many things that change over time
Sad song.
Sad song for me
Sad song
Sad song for me.
Every thing changes over time.
Every thing changes over time.
