Story behind the song
Another long dry writing spell broken. Writers block compounded with depression doesnt make for very productive results. The Trump nightmare is over, and the dozen or so songs I wrote about him are now happily in the past. So I needed to find another topic to write about. And I did not want to return to all my torch carrying songs, but that somehow slipped back a little into this otherwise upbeat song about getting over the past and moving forward into Better Weather.
Even though I fell back on some old musical writing techniques, I think the overall production is fresh and clever. Its one of those songs that exceeded my expectations in both lyrics and music composition.
